2010 KEIKI PADDLE

The Keiki Paddle gets better every year! This year we elected a Junior Advisory Group made up of 4 experienced Friendship Paddle paddlers to help organize and make important decisions. They had an immediate impact on this years paddle and elected to have two beneficiaries instead of one.

This year our 100+ paddlers will be supporting Edwin, Sonya and The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation by paddling 10 miles on August 1.

Edwin Corona is an 8 year old boy diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Edwin has a passion for baseball and recently received his first mitt from Hugs for Cubs. He lives with his parents and 3 brothers in Santa Barbara.

Sonya Urzua, 15 years old, was diagnosed with Malignant Granular Cell Tumors. Sonya is a freshman at San Marcos High School and is on the Junior Varsity Cheerleading Team. Sonya lives with her parents and six siblings in Goleta.

The mission of The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation is to ensure that children with cancer receive the undivided comfort of their parents during the treatment and recovery process. They help middle and low-income families with financial aid for rent, mortgage, utilities, and car payments, as well as other supportive services, thereby allowing families to focus on their children.

Please show your support for these worthy recipients by donating.
